Kevin Childs is an American musician from San Diego, California. He combines a soulful blend of folk and Americana with ties back to his punk rock roots.
Kevin got his start playing guitar in the emo/rock band Misdelphia during the late 2000’s. The band had 4 independent releases and toured with an array of emo/punk/hardcore bands in the Warped Tour community. He spent the early 2010’s fronting the indie rock quartet, Oliver Trolley. The band released 3 EP’s under Gas Can Music and toured the country, performing at venues including The Belly Up, The Novo, House of Blues, Gramercy Hall, The Roxy, The Troubadour, Whisky A Go Go, The Sinclair and many more. The group also scored some major television placements on shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real World, ESPN and the FIFA World Cup and landed their song "Minerals" on 91X's "91 most played songs of 2012" list.
After Oliver Trolley's split in 2015, Kevin spend some time writing, recording, and touring . Throughout his career, he's shared the stage with acts including Tori Kelly, Pete Wentz, Hayley Williams, Cake, Paramore, Matt & Kim, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, and many more.
In 2020, Kevin released his debut single, "Darlin Rue". The love song was produced by his good friend Jesse Barrera in Los Angeles. He followed up that release with "Permanent", a self produced, stripped down song about the trials and tribulations of a young band trying to succeed. There are many themes in Kevin’s music, but the common thread is that of relationships and love. The characters that he writes about are inspired by the people in his life, and with each new experience comes a new perspective.
