Born to Rise
Raw, high energy and no bullshit rock. We are homegrown SoCal music lovers that love playing music together and bringing the audience along for a ride they won’t forget. Born and raised on Soundgarden and STP to Incubus and Muse to Tool and the Deftones, we pride ourselves on delivering an experience with that familiar high intensity sound and energy in every performance. Emerging from members of Given Life and Endris, Born to Rise embodies a mindset reflected in songs about picking yourself up off the mat and rising above what life throws at you.

for more. A self-titled album was released in April 2018 with a follow up E.P. in 2021 and a new record

The Thieves About

The Thieves About are a rock band from San Diego, California, with energy and melody to spare, as evidenced by their electrifying live act. Their two latest singles at first listen, have you singing along by the second chorus,” The Thieves About are poised to explode out of their local market this year and onto the national scene.

The band’s three members — J Scott Gavin (vocals and guitar), Brian Ulery (drums), and Andrew Williams (bass and vocals) — are creating their most exciting music to date with their singles “Mars” and “I’m Sorry, But…”. The band recently supported Our Lady Peace on their Stop Making Stupid People Famous Tour and earned the following praise from Greg Vitalich of Hunnypot Unlimited: “Blending the upbeat spirit of the 80s with edgy 90s-inspired dual guitars was and entertaining combination – upbeat, melodic, with some balls!” The Thieves About have drawn favorable comparisons to such giants as Gin Blossoms, Jimmy Eat World, and Placebo.

On the heels of three successful EPs come two new singles and a live in-studio film, “The Thieves About Live at Studio West.” These new tunes represent their most modern and progressive sound to date, incorporating synthy soundscapes and exploring themes around psychedelic journeys and unrequited social media infatuation.

With a renewed sense of purpose and optimism for the future of rock music, The Thieves About are thrilled to discover what’s next.

Pleasure Device
Pleasure Device is a guitar-driven, experimental indie-rock band formed in San Diego in 2008. The group is composed of vocalist and guitarist Chad Robinson (formerly of Wormwood and Dynamite Hack), drummer Jack Panighetti (formerly of Boone Companion and El Buzzard) and pianist Craig Dolce (Hurricane Jenny and Early Autumn). The band’s newest members consist of bassist Will Fears and guitarist Ryan Kimble, both by way of their former band Behind The Wagon.

The Pleasure Device sound infuses the energy of The Cars and Nirvana with the experimentalism of Sonic Youth and David Bowie. Their songs are, as City Beat music reviewer Drew Keltz put it: “…as catchy as an STD”

The band has recorded two studio albums; the first, The Spectacular Miseries of Re-Entry, was released in 2009. The second, ANTHROPOCENE, was released in 2020 and was recorded in Austin, Tx and Del Dios, CA. The band is currently working on new music and will start releasing monthly singles leading up to an LP release in 2024.
