Through the Roots

Few things ever grow tall without roots. For the members of Through The Roots, it tooka decade of inspired songwriting and heavy touring to develop the band’s uniquesound: a modern blend of roots reggae, hip-hop, rock, and electronic pop. It’s a soundthat nods to the band’s diverse influences while also reaching far beyond them, and itbegan humbly enough, with the guys hosting their own backyard shows in collegetowns across Southern California. Word spread. Crowds grew. Through The Rootsbought a renovated school bus and hit the road hard, graduating from college fratparties to larger clubs, building their audience, show by energetic show. Throughout itall, the band kept writing and exploring new sounds, working their way towards a trulyunique sound that blended tradition with technology.

Likkle Jordee
Likkle Jordee
Likkle Jordee, a reggae artist from Mililani, has been deeply influenced by his hometown’s reggae culture and his father’s eclectic music collection. Growing up, he immersed himself in music, jamming with family and learning through observation. Reggae, especially during challenging times like the passing of his mother, became a lifeline for Jordee, with Bob Marley serving as a significant inspiration.

After high school, Jordee fully committed to his craft, starting with SoundCloud recordings that led to collaborations and the formation of Digikal Youth. Mentors like Panna and Leslie Ludiazo played key roles in his growth as a professional artist, refining his stage presence and performance skills. His journey is one of persistence, community, and the transformative power of art, staying true to his roots while expanding his impact.
Håle’
Håle’

Håle’ was formed in 2019 by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Peter Cruz. Born and raised in Guam, Peter relocated to San Diego, California in 2010, where he currently resides. Originally a classic rock and metal guitarist, Peter began experimenting with reggae music during high school. Because reggae is deeply rooted in the island culture of Guam, the transition came naturally.

Upon moving to the mainland United States, Peter joined the reggae group Tribal Theory, where he served as lead guitarist and background vocalist for seven and a half years, departing the band in January 2019. During his time with Tribal Theory, Peter toured the continental United States, Guam, and Hawaii, sharing the stage with many well-known acts such as Katchafire, The Expendables, J Boog, Alborosie, Young the Giant, and more.

Outside of Tribal Theory, Peter has also performed as a guitarist and bassist for artists including Sammy Johnson, Fiji, Baba B, Spawnbreezie, For Peace Band, Albert Posis, and Surrender the Thief.

In June 2019, Peter teamed up with longtime friend and world-renowned producer Jesse Barrera to write and record Håle’s debut single, “Feel That.” The track introduced a fresh and funky sound to the scene while staying true to the heart of reggae. Since then, Håle’ has released multiple singles such as “My Island Love,” “Isla,” and “Just Cool” featuring Josh Heinrichs.

Peter is currently the touring guitarist for Kolohe Kai, performing internationally while also writing new music for both Håle’ and Tribal Theory. Håle’ is set to release a new album showcasing Peter’s evolution as an artist, blending island roots with modern reggae and soul influences.

You can find Håle’ and all of Peter’s musical works on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
