Formed in the Deep South in the early 1990's, Salty Papa has been refining their blend of Southern Soul Music and California Surf Vibes for decades now. The band members all hail from Southern California but several of them have deep connections with the South. Guitarist and bandleader, Felix Wohlleben, makes his home in New Orleans while the Drummer and Vocalist, Tim Petersen spent years in Alabama honing his craft playing behind the legendary Johnny Shines. Bassist Chris Goldsmith was a founding member of So Cal Trop-Rock sensations "Borracho Y Loco", and Keyboardist Casey Gee is a seasoned veteran of the San Diego music scene. Their sound is often supplemented with horns and percussion to create a unique version of Southern Fried Soul and California Dreamin'. During Covid the band produced a stellar compilation of live tracks recorded at Salty Headquarters entitled "Now You Know"- look for it on all music outlets. Their mix of grooves is sure to satisfy!
