His musical journey began in 1985, after the profound impact reggae music and its spiritual message had on him. For over three decades, Maka has remained steadfast in the mission, performing in reggae bands in California and Hawaii. He is a founding member of Hawaii's pioneering reggae band, The Heartical Crew. Their orthodox, roots sound influenced many of today’s well known Hawaiian reggae bands. After many years of directing all aspects of the music business, he focused on his personal musical path. Stepping from the keyboards and up to the microphone as a conscious roots vocalist he released his debut CD, 'I Sight'. His musical journey has come full circle, returning to California.
