Wave Parade
The name Wave Parade vibrates like the moment the ocean meets the
sand. Founded by former members of West Beast, Archery for the Blind,
Ricksha, and Skyline Union. Each member creates and adds to a mix of
surf and psychedelic garage rock that swells as eloquently as the
waves where they were formed (San Diego, CA). On their 2021 DIY
approach to recordings, a frenzied blend of delay, reverb and etherial
guitars swim under the harmonized vocals, while the drums and bass
create a formidable rock for the music to splash off. Wave Parade
writes songs about perspective, observation, isolation and
introspection; using melodic traces of shoe-gaze and surf rock which
gives a nod to the garage-inspired bands they grew up with. It all
makes for a sonic view into their eclectic, otherworldly musical
domain.
Thea the Band
Thea The Band is singer-songwriter Thea Tochihara. Born in Denver, CO, Thea moved to California after graduating with a degree in Psychology, and continued on to receive a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. It wasn’t until years later after a relationship soured that she began to write songs, play guitar, sing, and rekindle her love affair with piano. What grew into a journey of facing fears & honest self-discovery, began as a hope and belief in being loved and loving others without wanting them to change. Having attraction to an array of genres, Thea The Band released a collection of songs in 2018 that had been written over the course of almost a decade, and with various projects; appropriately named ‘Start Over, Tell Me Everything.’ Blues, Folk-Pop, Soul, Rock, Alternative, Indie...very different sounds with the very same honesty weaving them all together. No boundaries, no boxes, just the requirement of being genuine. With the help of longest standing band mate, drummer, producer & husband, Jeffrey Litzman, they released ‘American Honey’ in 2022. Written & produced by the pair, the sound is fresh & fun whilst being simultaneously heartfelt, honest, and genuine. Real stories about real struggle, heartbreak, loneliness, hope, happiness, and faith in believing in and following your dreams. Whatever they may be. Thea The Band is Cosmic-American Music from the heart, for the soul.
