The band, who describe themselves as “a simple band expressing genius in idiotic ways,” is comprised of several long-time North County musicians who have all played in other local bands over the years, including lead vocalist and songwriter Jake Brewer, who was formerly the lead singer of the popular band Borracho y Loco. The album is self-released and was produced by Cardiff resident and multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Chris Goldsmith, who has produced albums with Ben Harper, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Big Head Todd and Monsters, Karl Denson, and many others.
