A Benefit to Rebuild Catalina's Only Hospital

WOODSTOCK - 51. A live StoryConcert™ Starring Back to the Garden

In 1969, three days of live rock music in a muddy farm field north of New York City changed the world forever. 51 years on, the cultural impact of Woodstock continues to expand, powered by the musical legacies of the artists who performed there: Jimi Hendrix, Santana, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Janis Joplin, Sly and the Family Stone, Canned Heat, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Joe Cocker, and more. Each one a legend in their own right.

What stands out in this moment is how music can connect and unite. The conditions at Woodstock were far from ideal, yet a half million people created community, celebration, and fun - a lasting example of the power of peace, love & music.

Back to the Garden invites you to join us for a live streaming StoryConcert™ featuring the artists, songs, and stories of Woodstock. This intimate evening live from the Belly Up will be hosted by KPRI’s Robert John Hughes, on-stage story teller. You’ll witness live performances of the songs of Woodstock by one of San Diego’s best bands. You’ll hear Robert’s personal blend of history, wit, and musical lore in a presentation uniquely designed to be enjoyed live at your house.

Woodstock 51 is a benefit evening for the Catalina Island Medical Center, serving the island’s 4,500 permanent residents and 1 million visitors a year.

The island’s tiny hospital does not meet tough new California earthquake standards, and so we must build a new hospital by 2030.

We hope this amazing concert will move you, as only great music can, not only to enjoy these incredible artists, but also to learn more about Catalina and our cause.

Back to the Garden - Sounds of Laurel Canyon

History can be rewritten, but a song is forever. Back To The Garden embodies this truth by taking their audiences back in time through the songs of past years. Invariably, their concerts become mass sing-alongs, set to the soundtrack of the free-love era.

Their inspiration comes from a heartfelt love for the music, and it is experienced on many levels, from primal to spiritual, by anyone who attends one of their shows.

Talk to any member of Back To The Garden, you will be speaking to someone who's made major contributions to the music scene. As session and live players, they have backed artists as diverse as Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Kenny Loggins, America, Kim Carnes, Juice Newton, Chaka Khan, Art Neville, BJ Thomas, The Everly Brothers, and many more.

Back To The Garden is: "Cactus" Jim Soldi, Marc "Twang" Intravaia, Sharon Whyte, Larry Grano, and Rick Nash.
